Mitchell A. Greene
Greene is the founder of The Growth Group, LLC a small business, community and economic development consulting company. The firm was established in 2005 and provides organizational as well as business development services to nonprofits, entrepreneurs, small businesses and the organizations that serve them. He is also extensively engaged in providing financial literacy assistance to low and moderate income individuals.
Greene currently serves in a consultative capacity to BCT Partners, a minority owned and operated firm based in Newark, NJ. The firm offers its expertise to corporations, government agencies and nonprofit organizations in the areas of housing, community and economic development, education, government and human services.
He is also a consultant to the New Jersey, Rutgers Newark and William Paterson Small Business Development Centers, Rising Tide Capital, Inc. of Jersey City, NJ and the Center for Urban Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CUEED) at Rutgers-Newark Business School. These organizations are extensively involved in the education and development of aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners.
He previously served as the Programs Director and Loan Program Coordinator for the Greater Newark Enterprises Corporation (GNEC). In this capacity he served as a loan officer as well as developed and conducted entrepreneurial training programs He also provided procurement and technical assistance services to the organization’s clients.
Prior to that Greene served as the Project Director for the New Jersey Statewide Minority Business Development Center (NJSMBDC). The center provided procurement certification and business development assistance to companies seeking to do or doing business with private, public and quasi-public entities.
A graduate of Morehouse College and North Carolina Central University School of Law, Greene has been professionally involved in lending, law and economic development for over thirty years.
