Monday, 25 April 2011 19:42Reports indicate that the Celebrity Apprentice star and possible Presidential candidate Donald Trump is sounding off on Jerry Seinfeld after the comedian pulled out of a charity benefit hosted by Donald Trump’s son, Eric. He told sources he just learned that Seinfeld had canceled a show for my son’s charity Trump wrote in a letter to Seinfeld on Wednesday, because of the fact that you think I am being very aggressive with respect to President Obama, who is doing an absolutely terrible job as our leader.
David Letterman: Trump's Obama Remarks "Smack of Racism"
Thursday, 19 May 2011 09:23In the middle of a lighthearted Late Show interview with Dr. Phil (airing Friday night on CBS), host David Letterman takes the opportunity to make his thoughts crystal clear on the subject of Donald Trump's recent remarks about President Barack Obama, saying they "smack of racism."
Letterman isn't referring to the birther controversy, or the fact that Trump takes credit for the White House's decision to release the birth certificate. Letterman is pointing to Trump's questions about Obama's education and how Obama could have written his memoir. "That's taking on a whole different point of view, as far as I'm concerned," Letterman says to Dr. Phil.
Dr. Phil is a known friend of Trump, and skirts around the issue for a bit, joking about Trump's presidential hopes and that the Donald probably wants to turn the White House into a condo. But Letterman doesn't let the conversation get off track. When Dr. Phil jokes about Trump's comments on Obama's education, Letterman says, "Other people are not amused by this tactic. And, by the way, nobody should be amused by this tactic."
Dr. Phil declares that Trump doesn't have "a racist bone in his body" and Letterman asks, "How can you say things like that if you're not a racist?" Letterman continues, "If (Trump) comes back on this show, and I'm not sure we want him back on the show under these circumstances, he ought to be prepared to apologize for that kind of behavior."
How does this particular conversation end, you may be wondering? With a high-five and laughter, of course. Watch the interview below!
