Wednesday, 02 November 2011 11:08Wale is an American rapper born to Nigerian parents from Washington, DC. He rose to prominence in 2006, when his song "Dig Dug (Shake It)" became popular in his hometown. Wale became locally recognized and continued recording music for the regional audience. Producer Mark Ronson discovered Wale in 2006 and signed him to Allido Records in 2007. While signed to that label, Wale released several mixtapes and appeared in national media including MTV and various urban magazines. In 2008, Wale signed to Interscope Records for $1.3 million, and his debut album Attention Deficit was released in 2009 with the singles "Chillin", "Pretty Girls", and "World Tour". The album, although under-shipped, received positive reviews from critics. In early 2011 Wale signed on with Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group.
Ambition is Wale second studio solo album. Guest for the album are Rick Ross, Lloyd, Ne-Yo, Big Sean, Miguel, Meek Mill, Kid Cudi, and Jeremih.
SPECIAL GUESTS:
Venemous 2000 & DJ Priority
"I define myself
as a humble student of the art," reflects Underground Hip Hop sensation, Venomous 2000: The Ultra Emcee (Dwayne Sheppard). For the 29-year-old emcee, his "classroom" was his native Passaic, New Jersey; drawing creative influence from timeless sources including: soul classics like Marvin Gaye and the Jackson 5 to Hip Hop legends, KRS-One and Rakim. Cultivating himself as a force for Hip Hop, Venomous began freestyling verses and writing rhymes in 1994 heavily influenced by pioneers of the day: The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, and BootCamp, and what he describes as their 'hard/lyrical/divine approach to the music.'
Beneath his reserved exterior, dwells an energetic microphone-controller whose on-stage moniker, Venomous, –an acronym meaning "VERY ENERGETIC NEW=BEING(NUBIAN) "ON MICS OPENING UNIVERSAL SOUNDING–describes him perfectly. Garnering acclaim spreading from and throughout the Tri-State area, Venomous' lyrical ability sparked a legion of supporters and a shared-stage spotlight with famed voices in Hip Hop including, RAEKWON (OF THE WU-TANG CLAN), DICE RAW OF THE ROOTS, C-RAYZ WALZ, RAH DIGGA, KILLARMY, HOMEBOY SANDMAN, LOST BOYZ, 84, CYMARSHALL LAW, JOHN ROBINSON(SCIENZ OF LIFE), among others. Equally active off stage as on; Venomous also produces head-nodding beats, engineers his sound, and keeps his notebooks filled with verse after verse. Venomous relentlessly finds outlets to divert his creativity through group affiliations with THE FORMULIS(w/Phonetic and Fenalm), EMANC PROC( w/RealEyez Mystic, Orator The Great, Heartbeat the Producer, and NuffSaid), DELINQUENT SOUNDZ ENTERTAINMENT, NEXT PHILOSOPHY DIVISION, ENERGY AND LIGHT (w/Starwalker), and NONAMESOCIETY.
With over a decade of practice, performance and perseverance fueling his music Venomous continues to create classics with the album, "Fresh, Amazingly!" (produced by DJ Priority), OUT NOW!
Poetic Substraum
Poet Substratum , a Ne
w Jersey native, began to love hip hop at a very young age. By the mid 90's he was writing rhymes, djing, writing graffiti, and break dancing. It wasn’t until a few years later that Poet started to take his art more seriously, and began making his way into the New York and New Jersey underground hip hop scene. He performed at open mics at the legendary Nuyoricans Poets Cafe and battling in the famous Braggin Rites emcee battles. Poet started a journey that has continued for over a decade.
In 2002 Poet started to organize his own showcases and in 2004 co-founded the New Jersey based independent label Delinquent Soundz Entertainment. At that time Poet was partnered with fellow emcee Bolical Jenkins to form the group Written On Your Psyche. From 2004 to 2007 they released two albums and two 12" vinyl singles under Delinquent Soundz. During those years Poet and Bolical performed all over New Jersey, New York, San Francisco, and Boston. Poet and Bolical who were no stranger to large venues opened up for artists such as CL Smooth, Pharoahe Monch, Prince Paul, RA The Rugged Man, and C-Rayz Walz.
Written On Your Psyche cordially parted ways musically in 2007 and Poet took a short absence, returning to the scene a year later with a solo project titled "All Of A Sudden" that featured guest appearances by members of the Delinquent Soundz family. 2008 also kicked off Da Sessions Hip Hop Showcase and Open Mic that is hosted by Poet and Respect Tha God (Perverted Monks). The showcases are still running strong and now are partnered with the Creative Juices Music family. Poet is now in the works of his next solo release while also helping out other artists under Delinquent Soundz with their projects.
The Vision

20 yr old up and coming MC The Vision was born in Bainbridge, Georgia, but was raised in Oak Park, Michigan until age of 17. Eventually moving back to my home town to reconnect with my family. Although, I am a southern artist, I have a mix of both a southern and northern style of music. I have been exposed to many different backgrounds and music cultures, which contributes to the versatility in my mu
sic writing. I first started writing music as an emotional outlet, but soon found that I had a talent for writing almost anything. I write everything from short stories to poetry and music. There is nothing I’d rather do than surround myself with music for the rest of my life. Currently I'm putting myself through college.
