Ghost: i think the spurs will win series on experience
StatTech: they didnt look done in game 1
DrunkFalcon: Grizz got D for them n when big z turn it on, the rest of the team is on 1
DrunkFalcon: That's right!!! Go Brave's
DrunkFalcon: I agree ghost
Guest_2878: what's up BKS1? got on here late but here is my take on the NBA Playoffs. I am not a Knicks fan, but Melo is getting a bad rap by some in the media. This team was flawed, but the watered down Eastern Conference, did little to expose them during the season. I said this back then, and still stand by it, the Knicks should have kept David Lee.
Guest_2878: The Heat will beat the Pacers in 5
G-Wils: my previous comments, forgot my handle
G-Wils: David lee led the league in double-doubles
G-Wils: the Knicks chose Amare with bad knees over David Lee.
DrunkFalcon: he does
DrunkFalcon: ????
DrunkFalcon: will not
DrunkFalcon: not at all a coincidence
DrunkFalcon: good idea they will still sux
DrunkFalcon: the pacers were just better

StatTech: Whos is the ATL sports hero?

NFL Picks

Monday, 05 September 2011 18:24
It was so clear...

On the air I gave my picks off the top of my head as to the records of everyone team in the NFL. After sitting down and looking over the schedules I had to revise my picks. Team by team, I ran the numbers and came up with the following standings.

AFC East

New England Patriots

12

4

New York Jets

11

5

Miami Dolphins

5

11

Buffalo Bills

3

13

The Patriots edge the Jets for the division crown, but both teams realize they have to win at least one road game during the playoffs.

AFC North

Baltimore Ravens

13

3

Pittsburgh Steelers

13

3

Cleveland Browns

4

12

Cincinnati Bengals

2

14

Pittsburgh and Baltimore battle it out for the conference title while feasting on NFC West teams, the Ravens pull it out for home field throughout the playoffs, but they are not my AFC Super Bowl pick.

AFC South

Indianapolis Colts

10

6

Houston Texans

9

7

Jacksonville Jaguars

7

9

Tennessee Titans

7

9

Once again, the Texans underachieve as they have strong seasons from Andre Johnson, Arian Foster and the media made top quarterback Matt Schuab but find a way to lose enough games to allow RoboQB Peyton Manning and his one-dimensional team into the playoffs.

AFC West

San Diego Chargers

11

5

Denver Broncos

8

8

Kansas City Chiefs

7

9

Oakland Raiders

4

12

This is the year the Chargers shake two things, the slow start, and the playoff letdown. Phillip Rivers leads his band of no-names to the Super Bowl despite the puzzling decisions of Norv Turner.

NFC East

Philadelphia Eagles

12

4

Dallas Cowboys

10

6

New York Giants

8

8

Washington Redskins

7

8

Injuries to Tony Romo or Michael Vick will change the overall outlook of this division. The Cowboys benefit from the nightmare that was last season by beating up on inferior teams on their relatively weak schedule.

NFC North

Green Bay Packers

13

3

Detroit Lions

10

6

Chicago Bears

8

8

Minnesota Vikings

8

8

With 15 players on injured reserve last season (not counting the playoff injury to Charles Woodson) the Packers still returned the Lombardi Trophy to Green Bay. With all hands on deck, the Packers are my choice to repeat. I figure the losses to free agency happen after the second Super Bowl.

NFC South

New Orleans Saints

12

4

Atlanta Falcons

11

5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

9

7

Carolina Panthers

4

12

As much as my heart wants Raheem Morris’ Buccaneers to win the division, they just are not ready…yet. The Saints, finally with a legit running threat in Mark Ingram, are primed to take the division before falling short against the Packers in the NFC Championship game (no defense). As for the Falcons, Matty Ice is overrated

NFC West

Arizona Cardinals

9

7

St. Louis Rams

8

8

San Francisco 49ers

3

13

Seattle Seahawks

2

14

Almost by default, the Cardinals earn this division. The only worry I have is (surprisingly, for as much of a bust I think Kevin Kolb will be) the running back position. Can Beanie Wells give us a full season without an ankle injury? If so, the Cardinals will win this putrid division easily. The Rams benefitted from the schedule last season, this year will be rougher on the young gunner Sam Bradford.
