Civil War in Urban Communities Can a Truce be the Answer?

Civil War in Urban Communities Can a Truce be the Answer?

Many communities are faced with it's young people from rival gangs declaring  war on one another.  Many of these young men and women are from the same race, have gone to the same schools, played on the same sport teams only to be separated and turned against one another based on their gang affiliation.  In this 21st century we are witnessing modern day Civil War in our Urban Communities.

Plainfield, NJ with approximately 50,000 residents has experienced a rise in shooting deaths many which have been contributed to rival gang violence.  The residents and City Officials have been working to provide solutions to stop the violence, but without much in the way of results.  Meetings after meetings filled with facts and opinions of what the cause of the problem is and how to handle the problem have varied from curfews , to better education and employment opportunities.  Finally we are able to go directly to the nucleus of the source.  Tonight on bks1radio.com We will hear from the very  young men that called the truce between rival gangs. . This maybe a new beginning and a model for other communities facing similar issues.  Join us "Live in the Vocal Booth" Tonight as we seek peace in our streets.

Please edit my comment before placing on public view. Tayir Pugh mother I just also want to add when I was growing up guns didn't exist when had house parties at first less violence due parental supervision plus I grew up in Piscataway working middle class town. But, my social life was Plainfield on the border of fourth street and rock avenue. Until, the crack epidemic rocked world wide nation The powerful Colombian kingpin Escabor, coke and crack distributor, took control of the drug industry circa, late 70s and early 80s. Guns were a must because paranoid of theft of lucrative profits grew greatly among drug dealers territory was overstepped and this greed has continued to flood the inner city. As a result, that type of obession needs to be reform to a healthy energy and focus and convert to positive energy and drive. Mom. Hassana Rivera

Mother of one the rival gang, leader, Tayir Pugh, I prayed for this day for him to find the solution to the problem it took a powerful courage to cry out his help to heal this plagueing and toxic antisocial disease. He is Afraid and discovers he needs to perform a solution that infuses him to take the first step his conscience alerts him to make a plan to reform from gang violence practices. As a mother, alone, I worked hard to intervene with patiene and perserversnce I exercised unconditional and using my example of a reform addict and drug distributor it is possible to change . He continued to resist but, on May 19, 2011 my wish became true . peace, joy,and relief have taken residency in my mind and heart. I thank everyone who will support our troubled youth and young adults to a live healthy, safe, and loving lifestyle. I hope the president Barack Obama will take the time also to help with programs to support the gang members quest to make peace and reform by becoming gang prevention mentors and juvenille correctional facilities and recovey ciunselors for adult gang members and rehab programs in addtion, providing grants to open entrepreneur schools, Barbershops, clothes, shoes, stores talented activities program such as: Poetry clubs rap club,dj clubs, school of dance, movie writhing music producing training summer camps I see abundant among the youth they get bore easily which is recipe for disaster minor age to young adult this is a sensitve milestone stage that needs special attention talent fashion design drawing schools and clubs sew class interior decorating etc all rival gang leaders must have supervise to devise a peace contract and begin attending school for entrepreneur or open business they have the manpower to support in starting one business when everyone achieve and prosper in their success instead of competing with another

Thank GOD!! Please as a unit, take this effort to the next level and let's start a movement not only through PLAINFIELD, but all communities. Hold your head high gentleman as you've made the best decision in your life! You only have one life to live, and I pray that from this day forward continued success for each and every one of you.

The men sitting down are diligent men, these men need to start building the community. They are the only voice that are stepping up. Imagine Plainfield with no violence, injustice anywhere is a threat justice everywhere. Only the kids can make a difference. Power to the people, From Mr.Young
