DrunkFalcon: Grizz got D for them n when big z turn it on, the rest of the team is on 1
DrunkFalcon: That's right!!! Go Brave's
DrunkFalcon: I agree ghost
Guest_2878: what's up BKS1? got on here late but here is my take on the NBA Playoffs. I am not a Knicks fan, but Melo is getting a bad rap by some in the media. This team was flawed, but the watered down Eastern Conference, did little to expose them during the season. I said this back then, and still stand by it, the Knicks should have kept David Lee.
Guest_2878: The Heat will beat the Pacers in 5
G-Wils: my previous comments, forgot my handle
G-Wils: David lee led the league in double-doubles
G-Wils: the Knicks chose Amare with bad knees over David Lee.
DrunkFalcon: he does
DrunkFalcon: ????
DrunkFalcon: will not
DrunkFalcon: not at all a coincidence
DrunkFalcon: good idea they will still sux
DrunkFalcon: the pacers were just better

Young Woman You Have Power

Friday, 07 December 2012 21:52 Published in BKS1 Bloggers

Today I had the rare opportunity to have a bird’s eye view of myself through two young women.  Both young women shared the same birthday.  The first was a young woman that at age 21 was the mother of three the oldest being 6.  The second young woman also 21 was entering into her second month of graduate studies.  I was struck by the contrast of these two young women that shared the same date of birth and in my mind I traveled their 21 year journey.   I saw myself in the young mother although motherhood didn’t start as young for me as it did this young lady I loved being a young mother.  I took many detours and used government assistance to help take care of my baby's needs as a 22 year old mother.  I worked and went to school for my real estate license.  I always had many dreams and although pregnancy was unexpected my dreams just changed to include both of us.  As time went on my family grew and it included my children’s father who became my husband 19 years and counting.  My children gave me focus and increased desire.  I wonder if it would be the same for this young mother who at 21 had a huge responsibility to provide and direct these 3 children at her young age.  Then my mind shifted to the 21 year old graduate student.  I have known her all her life.  She did not come from money or privilege.  I knew her to have a deep desire and to face obstacles with and all out assault.  There was no way she would let any circumstance beat her.  I thought about my struggles and how many times I felt like I wasn’t going to make it or get to where I wanted to be.  I thought about the times where the bills were larger than my income and I could see my friends progressing in their education and professions.

I could see my past and my future in these two young ladies.  These young women represented my life and both paths  I pursued.  I judge neither young woman because who am I to judge.  I will not tell one over the other you’re better or not better.  I would encourage both keep reaching and striving for your goals and although you made different choices and one path may take longer or have different challenges you can still overcome and make it.  I hope young women never settle for where they are.  If you have a High School Diploma go for college credits, if you have some college behind you do what it takes to get that Associates Degree or Bachelors, if that’s not in reach get a certificate.  My heart is and will always have a soft spot for mothers that against all odds never give up, don’t quit, won’t quit and never say die… Young women even if in life you have not made the best choices- keep it moving- His mercies are new everyday.  I encourage you to find out who you are supposed to be and reject anything and everything that causes you to doubt yourself.  You Have Power…

It was then she realized that this was something she would always want to do. After raising a family Neicee is pursuing her lifelong dream to become an artist singing R&B, gospel & soul music. Storm Norm

Norman Bradley A.K.A. “Storm Norm” born and raised in Plainfield, New Jersey, the home of famed artist that range from Parliament Funkadelics and to the hot female group “Total”. Norm graduated from Plainfield High School where he was known as “DJ. Norm Ski” .

He rocked high school parties as DJ Norm Ski at some of The Tri States hottest clubs. His passion for music didn’t stop at just dee-jaying, he also formed a rap group called Fresh Finesse and released their first single titled “ You Ain’t Saying Nothin” on Valley/Trumpet/Atlantic records. The single did well in the US.and was 11 on London’s top DJ./Producer Tim Westwood’s top 40 pick hit list. He then went on to study recording engineering and the business of music at the prestigious Arts Institute of Atlanta, GA.

While pursuing his education he decided to go back to the Tri-State area to start his own music production company and studio, which led to the transformation from dee-jay to producer/songwriter. The first act he discovered, produced and developed was a female R&B/Hip-Hop group called “Total Opposites” which consisted of three local New Jersey girls Kima, Keisha, and Pam, they later went on to become the bad girls of Bad Boy Records-“Total”.

Since then he has worked in the presence of an array of artist and celebs such as Whitney, Bobby Brown, Nice and Smooth, M.O.P.,NBA legend Earl the Pearl just to name a few. Storm along with his long time friends formed a company called “Best Kept Secrets Entertainment” which is an entertainment media company which  also consist of BKS1 Radio network as well.

One of Storm Norm’s biggest career highlights was producing and co-writing for the tribute song “Nothing But The Truth for the Sojourner Truth statue tribute at the US Capitol with Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton & Nancy Pelosi in which he worked with artist Dorinda Clark and Yolonda Adams. Storm Norm is now involved in the film making industry and well on his way to becoming a force to be reckoned with in this jungle we call the entertainment industry. Watch out! “the STORM is coming.”
