The Problems Insecurity Can Cause In Your Relationship
Wednesday, 25 April 2012 23:06TONIGHT'S TOPIC- THE PROBLEMS INSECURITY CAN CAUSE IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS"
Being in a relationship is far from easy. You have to put in some work,compromise, understanding and some unconditional love needs to added. Its a shame relationships don't automatically come with trust and honesty. Sometimes partners can become insecure or not trusting of their partner. Sometimes insecurities can turn into something we don't know how to deal with well or interpret as abuse. We are gonna talk about some signs to look out for if you think you have an insecure partner, friend, etc;
Special Guest: Bio - Author and Motivational Speaker Wil Townsend
Wil Townsend is a sought after motivational speaker, coach and mentor who spreads hope, love and joy with his interactive presentations throughout the U.S.A and Canada. With his blazing quick wit and amazing stage presence, Wil delivers a high-energy message that enables women, men and youth to live up to their own personal greatness which in turn makes it possible to have healthy, loving relationships.
He first realized his calling in the 90's when he was touring the nation with the R&B sensation Asante, (signed with Columbia Records), and experienced first hand the depths to which women will lower themselves to catch the eye of a man. His momentary "star status" and connections to giant producers such as Denny Foster and Tommy McElroy, the creator of En Vogue, made him the focus of many women. Although he admits he had his fun, he realized on some level that something needed to be done!
Ev
en after he retired from the music industry it was quite apparent that women in general would willingly subject themselves to demoralizing behavior from men. Through his own experiences and others, he realized that people everywhere are in search of love and will go to great lengths to get it and/or keep it. Unfortunately, "many are willing to sell themselves short in order to get what they think they want." By compromising their morals and beliefs, people have lost an integral part of themselves that will result in unhappiness in the long-run.
Wil has interviewed hundreds of men and tells it how it is from a man's point of view. He goes into depth about men and women's needs and desires and also points out the game, the pitfalls and the red flags that women should be on the lookout for. His powerful message implores women to take back their power and respect by taking the proper steps in setting a strong foundation; which in turn creates positive energy internally and within the relationship.

Live In The Vocal Booth Artist Review| Tank - This Is How I Feel | World Premier: The Tatum Talks| Special Guest: Comedian G.L. Douglas
Sunday, 27 May 2012 16:24Tonight on Bks1 Radio we have a special show for you. First we review Tank's latest release This Is How I Feel. Then following the Tank Review we bring you the Premier episode of Tatum Talks, Bks1 Radio's newest show added to the line up.
Artist Review: Tank
Tank delivers his 5th studio release with This Is How I Feel, lets see if he can continue to bring the soulful sounds that he is known. Here is an excerpt about Tank from (www.therealtank.com):
Tank is one o
f the most recognizable names in modern R&B, known for vivid storytelling and sensual love songs. He’s an icon in the making, with four albums and eight Grammy nominations under his belt. He’s also a singer who carries the torch of masters like Marvin Gaye and Al Green, while redefining R&B for a new decade. For singer/songwriter/producer Tank—about to release his Atlantic Records debut Now or Never, his first album in three years, and the one he describes as his most confident yet—the secret is simple. He remains true to who he is, as a man and an artist.
“My music is the real me,” says Tank. “I’ll either live by that or I’ll die by that in this business, but I’ve got to be me.” He’s famous for sexy yet relatable love songs that are at once thoroughly modern and yet steeped in the sounds of classic soul. Though fans know and love Tank for smash hits like “Maybe I Deserve” and “Please Don’t Go,” they may be surprised to learn that he is also behind such chart-toppers as Rubben Studdard’s “Change Me” and Omarion’s “O.” What’s more, Tank served as an associate member of the hit-making production team, The Underdogs, with further credits including the smash soundtrack to the 2006 musical film adaptation of Dreamgirls (in which he also made a cameo). Since releasing his previous album Sex, Love, & Pain in 2007, Tank took a moment to step out of the spotlight, but not necessarily out of the studio. He formed the Los Angeles-based production company Song Dynasty, and began shaping the sound of modern R&B with songs for a diverse roster of artists including Keyshia Cole, Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, Chris Brown, and Keri Hilson. Though he has enjoyed crafting hits for these artists, Tank is ready to step into the spotlight yet again, and returns with an incredibly personal collection. “I put a lot of my personal business into my music because people relate to it. I sing based upon the things that I’ve been through. I don’t just sing about the pain, I sing about getting through it. Whether I’m singing about sex, relationships, or the occasional party, the songs are still about classic R&B themes.”

I have felt hopelessness only 3 times in my life. The first time when I witnessed a family member, who raised me in my adolescence years, battle colon cancer. In excruciating pain, this once gallant, strong, independent individual began to slowly wither away. A man, who was always strong, for the first time in his life, began to speak openly about his pain. I felt helpless. A strong and vibrant 200lb independent man became a 90lb weak and frail dependent person, ultimately losing his battle with cancer.
Two years after losing my Uncle to the horrible fate that cancer renders, I learned that now my father was diagnosed with lung cancer. After chemotherapy and a host of different prescriptions, he died at home. Once again, I experienced the feelings of hopelessness.
With nowhere to turn and feeling overwhelmed, I turned to the only person that I would now call my earthly father, Reverend Dr. Michael Lee Graves. He taught me by exuding the strength in his character and the good counsel he willingly shared with me. His mentorship made me alive again. After 15 years under his covering and anointing, I gave him my usual Monday morning call. He indicated to me that he was diagnosed with colon cancer. I paused at the other end of the phone, and I had no idea what to say. I knew the security of the relationship, the fatherhood, the mentorship, the brotherhood, would soon come to an end, as my Uncle and father lives did.
Five years later after Dr. Graves passed, I stop searching for another earthly father. I began a journey to heal fathers across the country. So, after feeling I began to study the science of healing. During his declining health, I made a promise to my mentor, Dr. Graves, to finish seminary school, which I received a Doctorate of Theology. As my study increased, the depression of being absent from my father caused my weight to increase. My stomach began to hang over my belt. I went from a 32” waist to a 48” waist.
Depressed and not ready to deal with the pain of losing the father I adored, I did not attend his funeral. Really began to sink in. I began calling my mentor expecting him to answer, but the answering machine would play his recorded voice message. I found comfort in hearing his recorded voice. One day I call and the recorded message was changed with his wife’s voice. At that moment reality set in and my painful journey led me to discover my divine purpose. I am a Minister with the heart of a Doctor with a diving purpose to heal the minds, bodies and souls of GOD’s people!

The Power of Sex and The Consequences| Special Guests: Author/Motivational Speaker/Poet Hank Stewart and Singer Dai
Thursday, 07 March 2013 18:32Topic: The Power of Sex and The Consequences
I often wonder if my Vagina could talk what would she say to me...would she tell me that I should have followed my Grandmother's rule of thumb...wait until you are married until you give up what is so precious..you know to your husband...or would she say "Girl they do it...you know your counterparts, they do it with a no problem".
Why is it so easy for the Penis to do what he wants? The Coochie can't because she doesn't get the respect that she deserves...some feel that it is a wallet and a means to an end...she has been known to bring down nations and start Wars...is she that powerful, and if she is then why do we relinquish the power often to those that are not worthy and whom do not know her full value and potential?
What is she saying to you?

Special Guest: Archie Bang
East Coast best kept secret “Archie Bang” aka Frantz Joseph is fast becoming the next HIP HOP ICON. His first music video “Jealousy” featuring West Coast native, Nipsey Hussle tapped in a million hits the first hour it was featured on WorldStarhiphop.com. Born and raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn a city known as the ghetto with a Caribbean twist. Archie’s rise to the top is not your typical Brooklyn tale, with a strict upbringing by hard working Haitian parents; Archie’s father, like a lot of people, was out the picture before his chapter in the story began. Tough love from his mother and stepfather is partially the reason Archie was able to prevail in a city with a reputation for violence.
Armed with pen and paper he started writing and eventually his lyrics led him to close a deal as part of a group, At this point trying to distance himself from his hectic past, his efforts were in vain. Shortly after signing with a J Records Imprint, he was forced to turn himself in on an armed robbery case.
Archie’s greatest regret was not listening to the little voice in his head, his gut, and the night that lead to his prison sentence. Robbery charges turned around and robbed him of six years of his life. He refused to waste the time, so he used it wisely. His days and nights alone in his cell inspired lyrics for which he wrote and produced "Jealousy" featuring Nipsey Hussle, "My Life", and "All That You Need".
All which were on the Dj Whoo Kid hosted 2010 Nothing to Lose Mixtape, in March 2010 which created some buzz virally for Archie. 1 year later came support from DJ KAY SLAY with him supporting "My Life" on WQHT Hot 97 New York. Now Archie Bang is releasing his next official single "City of God", which is being pushed heavily to worldwide radio and already receiving support from some top DJ Crews! Get ready Archie Bang is on the rise and a force to be reckoned with.
