Topic: The Saggy Pants Ban is it a form of Racial Profiling or Really Addressing a Public Nuisance?
Recently the town of Wildwood approved a ban on Saggy Pants on the boardwalk. This outraged many and there exist two very strong points of view. Does a banning of saggy pant really indicate a way to racial profile or is it really an act to clean up the moral nuisance many just dislike? Many have come to speak out on this in particular one of Hip Hops most notables The Game told TMZ “the anti-sag movement is racist ... and tantamount to SLAVERY” . Where do you stand on the Saggy Pants Ban? We want you to sound of tonight “Live in the Vocal Booth”. Call in 646-233-1302 or Jump in the Live Chat.
Artist Review: Chrisette Michele
Everything and everyone grows. Chrisette Michele is no exception. A veteran at the grizzled age of 27, and on the cusp of her third album, Chrisette has found that middle ground. In 2007 she released the critically lauded I Am, which fetched Chrisette her first Grammy for the song “Be OK” written by Chrisette herself and produced by will.i.am. 2009 brought the commercial success of Epiphany, which debuted at #1 on Soundscan and the Billboard charts.
Now, come November 30th, 2010, Chrisette is prepared to Let Freedom Reign. First single “I’m a Star,” written by Ne-Yo and produced by Chuck Harmony, has already landed impactfully at urban mainstream and urban adult contemporary stations nationwide.
“When I got the call that Ne-Yo wrote a song called ‘I’m a Star’ I was like, ‘Nope, I ain’t singing that!’” Chrisette chuckles. “Then I heard it and it was about everything I’ve been through the last couple years. I realized I have willpower beyond what I recognized. That song is about going through a really tough time and coming out on top. And that you can have peace no matter what you’re going through, despite how fragile you’re feeling at the moment.” Indeed, Chrisette turns fragility into frivolity with her uplifting vocals.
Speaking of vocals, Chrisette’s have been blanketing the radio dial alongside Rick Ross and Drake on the massive “Aston Martin Music,” from the Bawse’s current mega-album Teflon Don. Chrisette has been enjoying that ride as well: “When I’m in the studio, the last words you’ll ever hear me say is ‘hit’ or ‘top of the charts.’ I don’t think that way; I just think about what feels really good. I didn’t fathom the success of ‘Aston Martin Music.’ I was just excited to be in the studio with Rick.” Studio time with Rick likewise birthed the track entitled “So In Love,” which Chrisette is proud to claim as part of Let Freedom Reign. Also, look online for her highly-touted mixtape with her new artist Lem Payne (her brother), aptly called Love Thy Brother. Additionally in the past year, Michele joined Maxwell, Musiq Soulchild and Anthony Hamilton on four tours, then headlined a tour with Solange Knowles.

Live In The Vocal Booth Artist Review: The Dream - IV Play| Topic: Teen Violence
Artist Review: The Dream
The-Dream was born in North Carolina and lived there until moving to Atlanta with his mother when he was 2. After his mother died when Dream was still a child, he was raised by his grandfather. His grandfather, an avid music fan, introduced Dream to the music of many legendary R&B and Soul singers, including Sam Cooke and Al Green. In the third grade he enrolled in his first music class, where he learned to play the trumpet. By the time he finished high school, he'd also learned to play the drums and guitar. At the same time, his taste in music expanded and he became influenced by hip-hop artists like Timbaland.
In the early 2000s, when he was still developing his singing talents, Dream was signed to a deal with Redzone Entertainment. With Redzone, Dream began to write songs for the R&B boy band B2K. He continued writing and producing through the 2000s, including on the second album by R&B singer Nivea from 2003-2005. He married Nivea in 2004 after dating for a year. Eventually he and Nivea had three children together, while he continued writing and producing for others. In 2007, he and partner Tricky Stewart had their biggest success up to that point via Rihanna's hit song "Umbrella," which they co-wrote.

In East Orange NJ a young woman with her entire future in front of her is senselessly murdered and her ex boyfriend is a suspect in this horrific crime. There is the question of teen dating abuse and how as parents we can prepare our children to recognize the signs of abuse and how to seek help if they believe they are in danger.
As we mourn for this young woman and the many others before her do you think we should mandate education that teaches our young people how to form healthy relationships and what to do if they find they are in an abusive relationship?
Join us tonight “Live in the Vocal Booth” as we educate on the signs of teen violence and discuss if we should legislate teaching Teen Dating Abuse in our schools. Call in 646-233-1302 or Jump in the Live chat www.bks1radio.com.
