New law makes sagging pants illegal in a Henry County city
HAMPTON, GA (CBS ATLANTA) - The city of Hampton in Henry County wants people to pull their pants up. Friday, a law banning sagging pants took effect. "If the back is out the front can be out and it's offensive," resident Polly Triche said.

Teams gauge Exxon oil spill damage to Mont. river
LAUREL, Mont. — Teams of federal and state workers fanned out Sunday along Montana's famed Yellowstone River to gauge the environmental damage from a ruptured Exxon Mobil pipeline that spewed tens of thousands of gallons of crude oil into the waterway. The break near Billings, in south-central Montana, fouled the riverbank and forced municipalities and irrigation districts to close intakes.

'NYC I Do' campaign to attract gay couples, cash in on legal gay marriage
Gays can soon marry in New York - and Mayor Bloomberg wants them to say "I do" at the Empire State Building, Coney Island - or any other romantic spot in the five boroughs. "We'd love to have you come here," Hizzoner said Monday of the two-bride and two-groom couples who can start to marry here late next month.

116 killed by Missouri tornado, tying it for deadliest on record
Joplin, Missouri (CNN) -- The toll in the tornado that ripped through Joplin soared to 116 on Monday, a city official said, tying it for the single deadliest twister to ever hit American soil since the National Weather Service began keeping records 61 years ago.

Chicago has highest gas prices in country
CHICAGO— When Chicago drivers stop to fill their gas tanks, they're now paying the highest prices in the nation. According to the Lundberg Survey, Chicago's average price for gas is now $4.27 a gallon. At many stations it's much higher than that. "It's absolutely unbelievable, and there doesn't seem to be any real justification as to why they're doing it, and that's what I question," said one driver.
