The 22-year-old Deuces singer has been nominated in six categories, proving he could finally be regaining the musical recognition and respect he lost in 2009.
On hearing the news yesterday, Chris excitedly tweeted: 'Thx to B.E.T for all the support and I love you teambreezy.'
The 'Look at Me Now' now video featuring Lil Wayne's and Busta Rhymes is up against Kanye West and Pusha T’s 'Runaway' and Keri Hilson’s 'Pretty Girl Rock.'
Chris's comeback was marked at last year's 2010 BET Awards when he performed a set of Michael Jackson hits to honour the King of Pop.
The emotional tribute, which saw him momentarily break down on stage, was met with praise from fans and the next day prompted him to receive 40,000 new Twitter followers.
Aside from the musical categories, Chris has also been nominated for his performance in the Thriller movie,Takers, alongside Matt Dillon.
The film saw Chris play a bank robber and he is competing against movie-heavyweights, Don Cheadle, Idris Elba and fellow chart-topper, Jamie Foxx.
Other R&B artists to get nominated include Chris's ex-girlfriend, Rihanna.
The S&M singer is up for Best Female R&B Artist award and rivals Jennifer Hudson, Keri Hilson, Marsha Ambrosius and Beyoncé for the title.
It is believed that Rihanna, 23, and Chris could put their differences behind them at the event after Rihanna requested that the restraining order against Chris be taken down in February.
The restriction was reduced to a level one, which meant Chris could have a degree of contact with her again and would permit him to attend events such as the BET Awards in her presence.
Though the pair have yet to prove they can be in the same room together, it was revealed they had began following each other on Twitter last week.
Rihanna, who has five million Twitter followers, raised eyebrows when she decided to add Chris to the select group of 384 people she currently follows.
Other R&B artists to make the BET billing include Will Smith's young daughter, Willow, who has made the Video of the Year category for her debut hit, Whip My Hair.
The 12-year-old is up against B.O.B, Kanye West, Marsha Ambrosius and Keri Hilson.
The BET awards take place on June 26 in Los Angeles and will be hosted by comedian, Kevin Hart. Alicia Keyes is also set to perform along with a few other surprises.
The BET Awards were launched in 2001 and stand for Black Entertainment Television. The annual awards night celebrates the music, acting and sporting talents of African American performers.
