What do you think about the performances? Are entertainers really necessary for the event or do they distract the public from focusing on the major issues facing America? Join the lovely ladies of O.nly W.omen W.ear H.igh H.eels as they discuss this topic and more. Chat live or call in 646-233-1302 voice your opinion!

Special Musical Guest: SINGER/SONGWRITER - Sharif

The future of R&B is certainly a bright one.  One messenger heralding the genre’s future goes by the name of Sharif Sounds.  Sharif has always loved music and is working hard to etch his name in R&B’s history books.

Born and raised in the small town of Passaic, NJ Sharif has an undeniable creative spirit.  Growing up in a single-parent home he learned early on the importance of hard work and strong family and friend support.  Sharif was born with a love for music, and began to nourish his noticeable gift for song around age 10.  Performing in school assemblies, local talent shows, and the church choir throughout his teens only made that love grow.  Majoring in Vocal Performance at William Paterson University Sharif remained focus on his singing aspirations and continued to wow audiences in university and local venues.

His talents and passions also extend to dancing, choreography, modeling, and design.  As a dancer and choreographer, Sharif has garnered a huge following as part of multiple dance and step teams in the North Jersey area.  A true performer, Sharif works hard to balance all his creative passions and is hands on in all aspects of his career.

Now in his twenties Sharif is more determined on his dream to pursue his creative talents, especially as a vocalist and writer.  Currently working on his debut album, he describes it as having “universal appeal, a sound everyone can sit back and enjoy.”  With his fun and bubbly personality he is sure to captivate you with his powerful performance and unique sound.  Drawing on inspiration from the vocal styles of Brandy, Frankie Beverly, Keith Sweat, Jodeci, and Shai, and performance techniques of Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, and Usher, Sharif says:
"My music is a reflection of the 80’s rooted in the current sounds of today’s R&B.”

With recent performances at the 17th Annual MLK Jazz Festival, Red Carpet Fashion Show, and Passaic African American Heritage Festival, this Jersey boy is ready to spread his wings and bring his R&B styling to the world.

Joining the ladies will be an astonishing array of talent. Love and Hip Hop fame, Jim Jones mother, Mama Jones will be joining the ladies in studio.  Joining Mama Jones and the ladies of OWWWH will also be sultry singer Esnavi and crews from Juicy Magazine and Exit 21 Magazine. Join the ladies for another fun filled show.

Topic: Celebrity vs Success

Fame does not equal success and success does not necessarily equal fortune.

Celebrities are all around us we see them on our television screens. We read about them in magazines and in our news papers. At times we dance to their music and often sing their songs. We tend to admire their style or imitate their fashion.

Celebrities are widely recognized and often achieve a high degree of public and media attention. Does celebrity status equal success? Fame can be short lived, one day you have it and the next it's all gone. After all, a person can be famous for all of the wrong reasons and their fame becomes a curse rather than true success.

Fortune on the other hand seems to make life a lot easier. Once you have money you can always reinvest it back and strengthened your revenue. But, fortune does not exclude you from the difficulties, hardships, problems, and temptations of the world. At times the rich and famous often makes the same mistakes as the poor and the unknown. Especially when it comes to values, morals and difficult decisions.

The way your life turns out is based on the choices you make. Let's talk which one would you rather have fame or fortune?

Special Guest:  Mama Jones

Nancy "Mama" Jones is a mother, businesswoman, youth advocate and mentor. Anyone who meets Nancy "Mama" Jones immediately recognizes that she is an unapologetic optimist and a woman whose passion for her family and success is stamped on every page of her life. Born and raised in Manhattan this inspiring, "real" woman has faced many challenges as a mother of 6 girls and mother of Rap Star Jim Jones.

Nancy Jones was inspired by the world of fashion. She attended and graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology in NY with dreams of starting her own clothing line some day. With the help and instant success of celebrity son, Jim Jones, Mama Jones was very instrumental in securing and financing her first national clothing line, Nostic, which became an instant success in retail department stores across America. The clothing line appeared in music videos, print ads, and magazines such as Complex, The Source, Spanglish, and XXL just to name a few. She was involved with promotion and marketing for Jim Jones' sizzling liquor Sizzurp, which captured global attention in the Hip Hop and liquor industry.

She is a committed community activist and youth advocacy leader, seeking to further educate the inner city youth with continuous efforts raising money to open a teen center in Englewood NJ. Her Sally Family Day Care Center in the Bronx was a huge success for underprivileged children in the NYC area. She also has a nonprofit organization which provides support for people with or affected by cancer, menopause, and heart disease.

Nancy "Mama" Jones is an established and successful businesswoman and entrepreneur. She has been touring and visiting radio stations and venues across America promoting her current and future endeavors. She currently has a single entitled "Psychotic ...tch," which was to be distributed globally by Fanatix Agency. In 2012, she will launch her brand new clothing line, vodka, her own fragrance Pumkash, and latex condoms, also entitled Psychotic and the list goes on. Nancy "Mama" Jones is clearly an inspiring woman on a serious mission. If Hip Hop's God-father is Russell Simmons, then Mama Jones is most definitely the first Mother of Hip Hop.

Special Guest: Singer E S N A V I

Until you experience Esnavi it may be difficult to understand the name or what defines it. The moment you meet her it all makes sense, Eclectic, Soulful, Natural, Authentic, Vivacious, and Intriguing – E S N A V I {Es-Nah-V}. A singer/songwriter hailing from Milwaukee, now residing in New York City, she is a multifaceted artist with a voice of undeniable soul, lyrics of thought provoking truth, and music that harmoniously blends everything in between. With the release of her debut album, Exit E, a 16-song musical journey inspired by love, society, and real life, her mission to enlighten the world through music has begun. Her first single, Unexpected Love, reached the Top 40 on the Urban Adult Contemporary Charts shortly after its release and remained in the Top 40 Urban AC Charts for over 10 weeks. The video for the single has remained in rotation on VH1 Soul & Centric since its release and was selected as one of Centric Hot 10 Countdown picks. Now with the current success of her second single, Morning Dew, music licensing deals and a beauty campaign that launched this fall, Esnavi is on the brink of becoming a powerful brand in the music industry.

After the release of Exit E, word traveled quickly about the sultry songstress who has not only been praised for her original collection of soul stirring music, but also for her electrifying performances. From her YouTube video impromptu freestyle with beat box legend Rahzel, member of The Original Roots Crew, at Paris Blues to her performance at S.O.B.’s Sol Village, hosted by Eric Roberson, where she exemplified her prowess to go off script or when she effortlessly rocked the stage of over 200,000 people at the Taste Of Soul Music Festival in Los Angeles last year with Tyrese, Eric Benet, Lenny Williams, Johnny Gill, and Goapele, Esnavi has proven that she is more than just a singer/songwriter, she is also a dynamic performer that commands the stage on any level. Watching her perform you sense a savvy entertainer with a deeply embedded passion. “I belong on stage. This is my home. It’s where I connect to the audience with my live energy.” She remains true to that connection by living in the moment each time she graces the stage.

The industry has taken notice of this star on the rise and 2012 has already proven to be a great year for this talented artist. She has performed at ESSENCE Music Festival during a live broadcast on Sirius XM Satellite Radio, headlined in front of a sold out crowd at Apollo Music Café, performed on Good Day New York morning show on FOX 5 NEWS, which has over 2 million viewers daily, sang The National Anthem at the IZOD Center for the Harlem Globetrotters World Tour, performed at BAMcafé Live (Brooklyn Academy of Music) for an overcrowded room which left over 200 people in line, secured a music licensing deal with H&M, Old Navy, Abercrombie & Fitch, Nine West, Ann Taylor and Arden B stores worldwide, and to top it all off, she is the first African-American face for Alison Raffaele Cosmetics beauty campaign, a cosmetics line that will be carried in Duane Reade & Walgreens stores nationwide, which launched in Puerto Rico in May, and in New York this Fall.

Esnavi has quickly become an independent powerhouse in a short amount of time. Although new to the mainstream, Esnavi has been on her mission for years. As a very young child, her performing and writing skills were fostered. At the tender age of 3, she performed for the first time at a Miss Wisconsin Pageant and acquired a love for writing poems around the age of 8. A love for music was evident during those years as well. Her vocal ability, however, wasn’t discovered until she was in high school. It was then that the music she listened to growing up started to subconsciously mold the artist Esnavi is today. From Stevie Wonder to Annie Lennox to U2 to Miles Davis, she was drawn to all genres of music. Once she graduated from high school, the layers came together and Esnavi was writing, recording and performing with a local studio. After high school she pursued a marketing degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While studying, “Music became the driving force in my life while in college, and the moment I turned in my last exam, I had an epiphany. Singing was the only thing I envisioned myself doing. I became so passionate about it because I knew I had something unique to share.” No stranger to recording and performing, she had no qualms about making her move to New York. She teamed up with a fellow Milwaukee native, Fulani Hart, and completed recording her first project, Uncommon Ground. The album was never officially released on a label, but Esnavi created enough buzz on the New York music scene to land her on BET’s, The BET J List, as the featured unsigned artist, and MTV’s, The City.

With the release of Exit E, which she co-wrote with producer, Michel Kunz, and her accomplishments in the past year, Esnavi has taken her career to the next level. Her current single, Morning Dew, is taking the radio industry by storm. Despite comparisons to the likes of India.Arie, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, and Lauryn Hill, Esnavi is definitely in a lane of her own. Her voice is clearly distinct and the beautifully arranged story that comprises Exit E is incomparable. “We wanted to create good music that transcends everything. Music that anyone in the world could listen to and love.” When you listen to her music, see her perform live and feel her energy, you experience Esnavi. “This journey is not about becoming a celebrity. It’s about music that stems from a real place with substance people can feel and relate to.” Esnavi is truly an original artist on the brink of delivering a unique sound of soul to the world…her soul.
