Special Guest: Singer/Actress Angie Stone
If Angie Stone had her way, she’d sit down next to every single one of her fans and pour out her heart – and soul – to them. She’d empower them with hard-earned wisdom; lessons learned from her very own heartache and happiness, mistakes and triumphs that led her to three Grammy Award nominations, two Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, and four Top 10 R&B albums (with her The Art of Love & War going all the way to number one). And with her new album, Rich Girl¸ the neo-soul songwriter has done just that, delivering a powerfully intimate collection of songs that wrap themselves around you like a warm embrace full of love and compassion, strength and wit.
“I spent a lot of time over the past few years working with other people, writing with them, working with producers. And then one day I realized that while I was doing everything I could to help them succeed and watching them grow, I was losing pieces of myself in the process.” she explains “I shaved a lot of my originality off when merging with so many other people. Fans weren’t getting Angie Stone. They were getting Angie and so-and-so. I knew I had to get back to my own music and skills. It’s time for Angie to do Angie.” That journey returned Stone to her songwriting roots, determined to record an album where making great music and sharing her soul were the only things that mattered.
And within the first few notes of “Real Music,” a gorgeous interlude of, well, real music that opens the album, you know she succeeded beyond all expectations. Angie teases with a short preview of what’s to come, drawing her listeners in with that neo-soul like so few can do, inviting you to sit down and get comfortable. “I wanted people to know that I wrote this album from a real place,” she reflects,” and the words for ‘Real Music’ just came to me. And I wanted to give them more than they were expecting. I want folks to be excited, to say ‘wow, I have an album of so much.’”
From there, the album slides effortlessly into its first single, “Do What U Gotta Do,” serving up more “real music” with its mix of guitars and groove set to a sing-along chorus as its lyrics lay out the theme for the rest of the songs to come. It’s easy to get swept away in that infectious refrain, to belt it out while driving around town. But the message is strong and holds its own against the hypnotic melody. When Y’anna Crawley (a winner of the BET singing competition “Sunday Best”) wrote the lyrics specifically for Angie, she couldn’t have imagined that it would become the muse for Rich Girl. “I knew right off the bat it was a song for me,” recalls Angie. “It was speaking to my spirit, it resolved some situations about music I had in my mind. It was telling me to keep my head up, saying ‘you can make it and do what you gotta do,’ giving me the beginning of the new album and the resolve to make it into something beyond anything I had ever done before.”

The Power of Sex and The Consequences| Special Guests: Author/Motivational Speaker/Poet Hank Stewart and Singer Dai
Thursday, 07 March 2013 18:32Topic: The Power of Sex and The Consequences
I often wonder if my Vagina could talk what would she say to me...would she tell me that I should have followed my Grandmother's rule of thumb...wait until you are married until you give up what is so precious..you know to your husband...or would she say "Girl they do it...you know your counterparts, they do it with a no problem".
Why is it so easy for the Penis to do what he wants? The Coochie can't because she doesn't get the respect that she deserves...some feel that it is a wallet and a means to an end...she has been known to bring down nations and start Wars...is she that powerful, and if she is then why do we relinquish the power often to those that are not worthy and whom do not know her full value and potential?

Baby Kuu Background Information:
The owner (Talana Riviere) was inspired to create this clothing line from the way she was dressed as a child. These wonderful memories lead her to develop a line that would supply the demand for classic clothing.
Talana started in the fashion industry in 2003, as a sales rep for a showroom in the garment district of New York City selling contemporary clothing, where she would often overhear buyers discussing their own children, the shopping experiences, and the difficulty in finding quality, conservative clothing for their kids.
Frequently, her friends complained that there was not enough classic clothing found in High End Department stores. She came up with the idea in 2006, and created a company that would supply what was obviously missing and needed… classic clothing for children.
The name Baby Kuu, "Kuu" means greatness in Swahili.

recalls the singer who gains inspiration from legends such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Toni Braxton and most recent icons such as Lady Gaga and Beyonce.
Years later, TOI received her first crash course introduction into the music industry. Special Guest: Archie Bang
East Coast best kept secret “Archie Bang” aka Frantz Joseph is fast becoming the next HIP HOP ICON. His first music video “Jealousy” featuring West Coast native, Nipsey Hussle tapped in a million hits the first hour it was featured on WorldStarhiphop.com. Born and raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn a city known as the ghetto with a Caribbean twist. Archie’s rise to the top is not your typical Brooklyn tale, with a strict upbringing by hard working Haitian parents; Archie’s father, like a lot of people, was out the picture before his chapter in the story began. Tough love from his mother and stepfather is partially the reason Archie was able to prevail in a city with a reputation for violence.
Armed with pen and paper he started writing and eventually his lyrics led him to close a deal as part of a group, At this point trying to distance himself from his hectic past, his efforts were in vain. Shortly after signing with a J Records Imprint, he was forced to turn himself in on an armed robbery case.
Archie’s greatest regret was not listening to the little voice in his head, his gut, and the night that lead to his prison sentence. Robbery charges turned around and robbed him of six years of his life. He refused to waste the time, so he used it wisely. His days and nights alone in his cell inspired lyrics for which he wrote and produced "Jealousy" featuring Nipsey Hussle, "My Life", and "All That You Need".
All which were on the Dj Whoo Kid hosted 2010 Nothing to Lose Mixtape, in March 2010 which created some buzz virally for Archie. 1 year later came support from DJ KAY SLAY with him supporting "My Life" on WQHT Hot 97 New York. Now Archie Bang is releasing his next official single "City of God", which is being pushed heavily to worldwide radio and already receiving support from some top DJ Crews! Get ready Archie Bang is on the rise and a force to be reckoned with.
